about

We started recording this album in May and was recorded mostly by ourselves. We had a lot of fun making this album happen but we also put a lot of hard work into it. Hope you enjoy listening to this!

Track Name: Haiku
Everything's better when I'm not okay
When it's colder and I can't feel my eyelids
And the nights are saturated with apathy and wasted breath

And we're all upset
Because we're aiming for a life that we'll never get
The journey's riddled with inadequacies
And more commonly, less than intermediate stories
And all I've got to look forward to on Friday nights
Is four hours of dying lights

I've spent countless days
Assuming things will work out fine
But things are coasting downhill
So I suppose that I'll give up on trying
I'm not sure, but I'd say I'm probably ninety percent
That my time could've been more productively spent
Gotta put myself back together but it's
Way too early for me to tell whether it's just me

It's been two months and I'm getting restless
I keep forgetting to shave and I haven't seen myself in weeks
And it doesn't matter that it's freezing
I'm going out, I'll smoke and drink whatever I want
And we're all upset
Because we're aiming for a life that we'll never get
The journey's riddled with inadequacies
And more commonly, less than intermediate stories
And all I've got to look forward to on Friday nights
Is four hours of dying lights

I've spent countless days
Assuming things will work out fine
But things are coasting downhill
So I suppose that I'll give up on trying
I'm not sure, but I'd say I'm probably ninety percent
That my time could've been more productively spent
Gotta put myself back together but it's
Way too early for me to tell whether it's just me

They've romanticised suicide
They've made it so trivial
But no one wants to talk about the underlying issues
This grey area won't get coloured in
But it's not important just as long as it keeps beneath the skin
Track Name: Thanks Tom Hanks
Inner city innocence
We don't care what we're doing
So long as we're moving
We don't have time for lying around
We're too young to waste time picking our feet off the ground

So long as the sun is out
We'll waste time doing anything we can to procrastinate
Times like these I wish I could drive
I'd consume the road with my eyes

And when the day is over
And the wolves come out to play
We'll still be here
And when the smoke is rising
And when the night gets too loud
We'll get to hear

Accounts of times that we'd forgotten about
Through someone else's eyes
Confessions of things we never knew about
Breaking down walls

It won't be long
Before the sun has gone
And it starts getting dark
Some time around five o'clock
You could say I hate the winter
But in hindsight I think I'm being unfair

'Cause after all the winter gave us snow
And I can't fault the way it makes our streets glow
But I just wish that we could have this heat all year round
'Cause I'm sick to death of struggling to walk on this ground
I shouldn't have to feel so isolated in the white facade
I just want to spend more time outside
Is that so hard?
Track Name: Synonym For Cinnamon
We climbed mountains out of curiosity
In retrospect it wasn't wasted time
The intellect that we developed was fine
We were swimming
On land which had dessicated
And we were frustrated by the sea of disintellect

Breathe out now
Waste your last cigarette
Leave the night alone

It might be your last
But I wouldn't look in hindsight
You'll miss what's in the foreground
And drop all of your breath on the ground
I wouldn't take a picture
We don't have time to procure the camera
With broken wheels I'll get you there

We climbed mountains out of curiosity
In retrospect it wasn't wasted time
The intellect that we developed was fine
We were swimming
On land which had dessicated
And we were frustrated by the sea of disintellect
Track Name: High Spaces & Tall Places (Part I)
The sun only wants to burn your eyes when you're young
Maybe you won't have a realised
When you're faced with a blank canvas
And your palette consists of black and white
All you can hope for
Is that everything will be alright

I could walk through deserts
And scream at faces that I had never seen
I could tie my laces together
And hope that natural selection takes me

You can't fault what makes perfect sense

Are you okay?
No honestly I'm fine
I'm kind of tired but apart from that I'll be alright
Are you alright?
No really I'm okay
I'm just lost for words and I don't know what to say
Three words that I don't need to hear
Because they don't mean a thing when they're so insincere
Your shallow minded enquiries mean nothing to me
I'll find my own way back

You could say that we're broken
But we're just running low
The pieces fit together
We're just struggling to make them go

We'll run, but only because we don't want to die
It was fun
Only until we realised that
We're faced with a blank canvas
And our palette consists of black and white
All we can hope for
Is that everything will be alright

I could crawl through sandstorms
And feel like clouds on a sea that I can't see
But we'll burn that bridge together
And hope that it doesn't collapse 'til we're free

You can't fault what makes perfect sense

Are you okay?
No honestly I'm fine
I'm kind of tired but apart from that I'll be alright
Are you alright?
No really I'm okay
I'm just lost for words and I don't know what to say
Three words that I don't need to hear
Because they don't mean a thing when they're so insincere
Your shallow minded enquiries mean nothing to me
Track Name: My Cat Looks At Me Upside Down Because My Cat Loves Me More Than Your Cat Loves You
And I can taste it on my lips
I would've thought it would've worn off by now
I'll go and pour another drink
Because the UV's burning my eyes
Why waste time with coherent speech
When we could be waiting for years?
I think it's time we settled down
By the fire with a guitar and the ground

I'll absorb an iridescent skyline
We could walk anywhere the sun takes us to

I'll go to the back of the line!
Because it's colder inside
I'll smoke too just to kill time!
Let's make the most of the summer
Track Name: What's Our Next Move, Chuck?
Let's take this seriously
And we can count all the times we said it's fine
We're dying to see
In the daytime we'll be running behind on
TIME!
There's no one waiting for you tonight

I've spent days searching for you
For me to only just realise
You're too far away for me to see you
And I can't put my head down now
It's December and I'm no colder now
Than three months ago when I burned that bridge down
I wish I didn't regret that now

There's not enough water the cover the time
And the doors are closed when they're dry
There too much iris in my eye
Track Name: Wolf Eyes (Part II)
It's almost winter
Are you struggling to stay awake?
Your voice might splinter
But it keeps the sadness away
We'll spend days in bed
Because we know it's where we belong
I'll let it go to my head
And we'll be anchored here before long

I'd encourage you to stay warm
For the good of your health
And when the sheets get worn I'll replace them myself
And when you need space
I'll be thinking of you, I'll be writing about you
Because you've got this face that I'm enamoured with

We'll set fire to ourselves
Because it's easier than making the effort to care
We're running out of oxygen
And we're fighting, fighting for air
The ink has all run out
And the letters are no longer there

We're not so reckless, you and I
Counting silhouettes of branches
From a broken blow up mattress
Tasting early morning oxygen
And just for fun, we'll bring matches
And hope nothing important catches

Our hands have melted in the snow
And our eyes are shot beyond repair
Walking on fractured ice was the worst idea
But the excursion was worth it to be fair

We'll set fire to ourselves
Because it's easier than making the effort to care
We're running out of oxygen
And we're fighting, fighting for air
The ink has all run out
And the letters are no longer there
Track Name: I Would Like One Zooey Deschanel, Please
They said we won't make it out alive
And truth be told I think they might have been right
Because since that night
It seems the trees in the sky are fighting whales the size of a tightrope...

...of indeterminable length
I feel all over the shop
FUCK!
I feel I'm blending in with the canopy

You could say that we're all drowning
But I feel the floor leaving me

Don't wait up at night
Breathing slow and hoping that I'll
Come back soon, I might
If I have time

I'll impart this poor excuse
But you'll have to realise that
I'll come back when I'm ready
And I've got the wings of a shark in the atmosphere
Because a sky safari
Is better than no safari
And let me tell you this you'll wish you could,
see more colours than the spectrum parameters allow
